I miss money — but I’m just gonna admit that I don’t miss working.
Weather has been stellar for over two weeks, so it’s just dog walks, yard work, lots of good cooking, and some brews. There is a lot more I could be doing around the house. B ut outside of dishes, vacuuming, and laundry... I’m taking it reeeeeeal slow.
Hope you’re all staying safe and sane.

Im right there with you. Every stitch of laundry clean, no dishes left, and backyard day four ahead of me tomorrow. The first week was anxiety and too many beers, now there seems to be a blessing having the “stay-cation” Ive wanted for a while.
Make the best of it. All things will eventually pass

Same. I cleaned, reorganized, & labeled the kitchen. Baking lots, starting to learn Piano again, & sleeping in past 6am.

Getting used to working from home. In some ways I’ve been busier. So much of my time has been spent trying to figure out how to deliver classes and give exams remotely.
My key to staying sane has been rides around the lake. And also doing some planting in the yard during breaks.

The death toll so far amounts to a Monterey Pine, a Bloodwood and some sort of spruce... chainsaws are awesome.

I know you’ve been pretty unhappy at work, so it’s good that you’re using this time to unwind and recharge. While obviously you’ll need to go back to work ... Maybe it doesn't have to be THAT work?

But seriously, sorry to hear this, I guess I missed it... I hope you’re ok, I’m sure there are a bunch of Oppos out of work.
I was laid off for a few months right after we bought our house. Rather than panic, I put myself to work doing all the things we wanted to do around the house after moving in, but would have taken a lifetime to complete in normal circumstances. This was pre-kids, which helped. It was great. But then, I had a job to go back to, it was a seasonal layoff.
Best of luck, I hope things work out for you. You can always apply for full-time shitposter, you’re probably overqualified.
